Job Location and Development Information (FoxQuest)

What Is Job Location And Development?

Job Location And Development (JLD) is designed to locate and develop off-campus, part-time jobs for students during the academic year as well as full-time positions during the summer. Any off-campus positions are advertised on FoxQuest.

Who Can Participate?

The services of this program are available to both full and part-time students, including those registered in Graduate and Adult Enrollment and involved in a credit bearing program. Students do not have to demonstrate financial need nor meet special academic requirements to participate. This program, however, may not be used for placement after graduation.

How Do I Apply?

Current students are able to apply to any open positions on FoxQuest. FoxQuest accounts are automatically generated for current students, and are accessible through the student’s single sign-on via My.Marist authorization.

What Jobs are Available?

Currently, jobs are listed on the JLD bulletin board outside the Office of Student Financial Services (Donnelly 200) and on FoxQuest. Please note that, as a referral program, we cannot guarantee you a job.

How Do I Get A Job?

It is the student’s responsibility to initiate contact with the employers listed on FoxQuest. Should a student have challenges in obtaining an off-campus position, they are encouraged to contact the Associate Director of Student Employment, Tenisha Lane, at 845-575-3230 or via email at

What Are My Responsibilities as a Student Employee?

First, students should be sure that they understand the terms and conditions of their employment – for example, salary, hours, and duties. A student should not accept a job if they do not like or feel comfortable in the position, as they will be expected to honor their commitment to an employer. Second, students should be sure to arrive on time for work. If there is some reason for tardiness or absence, students should notify the employer at least one day in advance, or as soon as is possible. Last, if a student is experiencing any difficulties on the job, they should be discussed with the employer. Failure to utilize JLD services via FoxQuest in a responsible manner will render a student ineligible for JLD during the remainder of that academic year.
